Comparative Literature Council of Bangladesh (CLCB) – তুলনামূলক সাহিত্য সংসদ, বাংলাদেশ, established in 2024, is envisioned as the premier umbrella body for advancing Comparative Literature studies in Bangladesh with strong global engagement. Rooted in the richness of Bangla literature, the Council seeks to promote comparative, cross-cultural, and translational scholarship while providing platforms for dialogue between Eastern and Western literary traditions.
CLCB serves as a patron and guiding body for the Institute of Advanced Studies and works in close association with the international journal IDEAS: An International Journal of Literature, Arts, Science, and Culture. Together, they disseminate new interdisciplinary knowledge across literature, arts, science, and culture. The Council also partners with the IDEAS Research Group of Scholars (IRGS) to nurture emerging researchers and create sustainable platforms for global academic exchange.
As part of its mission, CLCB organizes international conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia; publishes books, journals, and translations; and fosters MOUs with universities and research institutions at home and abroad. It further operates with a philanthropic vision, extending education, research, and publication support worldwide for the upliftment of humanity.
Through these endeavors, CLCB aspires to uphold the unique voice of Bangla literature on the world stage while creating inclusive spaces for comparative scholarship across disciplines and cultures.
