Vision & Mission

Vision:
To establish a premier international platform rooted in Bangla literature for practicing, comparing, translating, and disseminating knowledge in Comparative Literature; to uplift the unique voice of Bangla literature globally while fostering cross-cultural literary dialogues and advancing human welfare through education, research, and publication.

Missions:

  1. Promote Comparative Literature scholarship in Bangladesh and globally, especially works that compare Eastern and Western literary cultures.
  2. Facilitate translation of Bangla literature into other languages and vice versa.
  3. Organize conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia on themes such as gender spectrum, historical disparities of women in literature, identity, diaspora, etc.
  4. Publish books, peer-reviewed journal(s), websites, and other media to disseminate research in Comparative Literature.
  5. Foster collaborations and MOUs with domestic and international departments of Comparative Literature, Bangla, English, and related fields.
  6. Operate as a philanthropic foundation worldwide to support education, research, and publication in Comparative Literature for uplifting human condition.

Objectives

  • To create a sustainable institutional platform for Comparative Literature in Bangladesh that upholds and projects the richness of Bangla literature.
  • To encourage comparative studies between Bangla literature and literatures of other regions (East/West), particularly on gender, cultural identity, historical disparity.
  • To generate high-quality scholarship, translation and critical editions that make Bangla literature accessible globally.
  • To mentor emerging scholars and provide resources (grants, workshops, mentorship).
  • To build a network of comparative literature scholars and institutions, both in Bangladesh and internationally.

  • Partnerships: MOUs with IDEAS Journal / IDEAS Research Group of Scholars (IRGS) Institute of Advanced Studies,  Comparative Literature CLC departments of Jahangirnagar University (JU), Departments of Bangla & English of various universities at home and abroad.
